Realize the promise
of digital
transformation

CXW/Digital can help your management team develop the leadership skills and mindset necessary to compete in a world transformed by platform business models, big data and machine learning. We work with teams to develop two-sided and multi-sided platform based business models based on the research and methods developed by the world’s leading authorities.

Digital transformation is not about technology; it is about strategy, leadership, and new ways of thinking about the best way to connect with customers in a new, hyper-connected world.

Approach

Digital Leadership

CX Workout has partnered with Professor David Rogers of Columbia Business School to introduce a new management program: Accelerating Digital Leadership, based on his best-selling book: The Digital Transformation Playbook – Rethink Your Business for the Digital Age.

The program is centered around five domains of digital transformation. Each of the domains has a core strategic theme that provides a point of departure for each participant’s digital strategy.

Accelerating Digital Leadership equips individuals and teams with best practices and practical tools to translate each theme into a specific application in their organization. Highlights of the program include:

  • Digital Transformation Maturity Assessment: Prior to attending the program, participants complete a Digital Transformation Assessment that provides feedback on the performance of their company across 22 Best Practices.
  • Platform Wars Simulation: To drive home the learning around multi-sided platform concepts, participants in the program assume the role of a senior management team competing in a platform environment.
  • Digital Playbook: Participants leave with a detailed playbook that documents specific actions for guiding their organization’s digital transformation plan.

Digital Business Model

One of the most important aspects of digital transformation is the role that platform-based business models are playing in fundamentally resetting the competitive playing field. CX Workout has partnered with two of the world’s foremost thought leaders in platform strategy: Dr. Geoffrey Parker and Dr. Marshall Van Alstyne, co-authors of Platform Revolution, to provide our clients with consulting and actionable learning experiences design to help them plan, evaluate and prototype a platform-based version of their current business.

  • Develop a Platform Business Model Map: We ask seven key questions to populate a visual depiction of what the platform business model could look like. From these initial ideas, the flow of value exchanges, ecosystem participants and monetization opportunities begins to emerge.
  • Model Platform Dynamics and Monetization: Pivoting off of the Platform Model Map, one of our analysts models what the base case and growth case for the new business model could look like based on both past customer behavior and predictive adoption rates.
  • Prototype through Rapid Experimentation: We turn theory into reality by working with our client to create a Minimal Viable Prototype to engage and test with target customers and platform participants to reveal actual versus modeled user behaviors.

With a successful prototype locked down, some clients will move on to building a Minimal Viable Product, while others will choose to proceed directly to a phased “soft launch” of the new business model. During a soft launch, features and additional monetization streams can be introduced as customer network effects begin to grow, rates of adoption can be anticipated and the optimal go-to-market strategy can be identified and tested.
